2024’s River Wall Mural Winner

Deanna Hoover

The 2024 Mural is by Deanna Hoover, and her design “Feeding Squirrels at Spiegel Grove” gives another wonderful addition to the mural series.

Deanna Hoover is a mother of six wonderful children and grandma to 1 granddaughter, she has recently moved to Fremont, Ohio, though she originally grew up in Toledo. Nature and the outdoors have always been a huge part of her life, and loves finding new adventures, participating in recreational sports, and working out. Her passion for art extends to trying out new techniques and mediums, allowing me to explore different creative outlets.

The inspiration for her design came from her love of Spiegel Grove, with its stunning landscapes, majestic trees, and rich history. One of her favorite activities is feeding the squirrels there and seeing the joy it brings not only to her but to others of all ages. This shared experience inspired Deanna to create a design that reflects a piece of Fremont’s charm that many in the community can connect with.
