Downtown Fremont Inc. will be hosting the Terra State Community College Holiday Events in Downtown Fremont to kick off the holiday season. The Holiday Tree Lighting on Friday, November 26, 2021, is at 7pm and Small Business Saturday on Saturday, November 27, 2021. Attendance to these events is free to the public.
The Holiday Tree Lighting will take place at the corner of Front and State Streets by The Santa House Downtown. Prior to the Holiday Tree Lighting from 5-7pm, Santa will be in his house for children to visit and tell him what they want for Christmas. Santa will have hours from 1-3pm on Saturday, November 27 also.
To kick off the Holiday Tree Lighting, there will be dancers from Kassandra’s Dance Academy and The Garrison Restaurant will be roasting chestnuts and providing other holiday treats to get everyone in the spirit for the holiday season. For the tree lighting, Front Street between State Street and Croghan Street will be closed to traffic, portable bleachers to be placed for sitting for the event to ensure social distancing. The Terra State Concert Choir will also be performing prior to and after the lighting.
Small Business Saturday is an effort to support local shops that make our communities strong. This event encourages people to Shop Small & Shop Local. Small Business Saturday is a great day to make a BIG IMPACT within Downtown Fremont by shopping small and supporting local by keeping dollars local and supporting small businesses.
From November 26 through December 20, 2021, for every $10 you spend at participating downtown retail businesses, your name will be added into two drawings being held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021. The first name out receives a $250 Think Fremont Community E-gift Card. The second name out receives a $100 Think Fremont Community E-gift Card. Think Fremont Community E-Gift Cards are redeemable at 35 Downtown Fremont Inc. members businesses. Think Fremont Community E-Gift Cards are a simple way for people and companies to “give back” and drive more business into our local stores and available at www.downtownfremontohio.org.
Santa is in the House on the corner of Front Street and Croghan Street in December on Friday’s from 5-7pm and Saturday’s from 1-3pm. Outside The Santa House Downtown is a mailbox for children to mail Christmas letters to Santa and receive a letter back from the North Pole from November 26 to December 20, no stamp required, but each envelope must have a return address.
