Downtown Fremont Inc. will be hosting the Cinco de Cinco Festival on Saturday, May 7th, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Front Street in Downtown Fremont from Garrison Street to Birchard Avenue . The same day 1 of 3 Cornhole Events of 2022 sponsored by Dave Slater, Agent from State Farm, will be happening starting at 10am on Front Street between Croghan and Garrison Streets. Both events are rain or shine.
Starting at 10 a.m., the Cinco de Mayo Festival will be returning after a 2 year absence due to Covid-19 to a bigger and better family event in Downtown Fremont. The event will include ethnic food trucks and vendors featuring Hispanic foods and items for sale. Also, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., community resources are welcomed to promote awareness during the event for all attending. There will be kids activities and games with the movie “Coco” being shown at Paramount Cinema with the doors opening at 10:30am. Bring a non-perishable boxed or canned food item & receive free admission to the Disney movie which is limited to the first 200 people in celebration of Cinco de Mayo. Throughout the day there are Adult Games and an El Grito Jalapeno Eating Contest along with a 50/50 drawing and raffle baskets (need to be present to win). To conclude the event, the band, Los Aztrecas, will be performing at the Live Edge Center at 115 S Front Street, Fremont, Ohio, from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $10 and all proceeds go toward the Cinco Scholarship Fund. DJ Aztek will keep the day flowing with Latino music from 10am-10pm.
