Downtown Fremont Inc. will be hosting the Fremont Federal Credit Union Auto Show on Friday, September 6, 2019 from 5-8pm.  The Croghan Colonial Bank Farmers Market with Root’s Poultry & Welly’s Sauces Block Party BBQ & Sauce Competition on September 7, 2019 from 9am to 1pm.  Both events will be on Front Street in Downtown Fremont with the Auto Show extending from Croghan Street to City Hall 323 S Front Street and the Farmers Market between Croghan Street and Birchard Avenue.  Attendance to the Auto Show and market will be free to the public.

Check-in for the Auto Show contestants will be on the day of the event on the sidewalk on the northwest corner of Garrison Street and Front Street and judging will occur at 6:30 p.m. with trophies awarded shortly thereafter. Dash plaques will be given to the first 100 participants to check in and there will also be a 50/50 raffle.  Wild Side!, the Monster Truck, will be in the parking lot by Home Instead Senior Care 226 S Front Street on the corner of Front Street and Birchard Avenue.  Spectators have the opportunity get pictures in the truck, meet the drivers and get a poster signed by the drivers.  Century Die will be hosting a Mini Derby Race at 6:30pm at High and Croghan Streets.  This Auto Show is open to semi tractors, cars, low riders, trucks, motorcycles and more!

During the Farmers Market, the BBQ competition for chicken, pork, beef and sauce will happen in the City/Brady Parking Lot at 219 S Front Street.  Set up can be Friday, September 6 at 2pm or Saturday, September 7 at 6am.  The cost is $25 for each category.  All meat is supplied by the competitor and will need to be cooked on site.  Sauces do not need to be cooked on sight.  A Mystery Meat will be supplied as an added bonus.  Judging starts at 9am and awards at 2pm.  Awards and cash for the top spots in each category (prizes vary to number of participants).

Who Wants to be a Dessert Boss Contest will take place at the intersection of Front and Garrison at 11am.  Desserts are to be made at home and brought to the market for judging.  Kid and Adult categories will be judged and Downtown Fremont Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places will be awarded.  Registration is free.

During both the Auto Show and Farmers Market, the Oscar Mayer Wiernermobile will be parked in the Brady Lot.  The Wiernermobile is a the kickoff to Fremont’s Kraft Heinz’s 150 anniversary.

Front Street will be closed Friday from 3pm until 9pm and 6am until 2pm from Croghan Street to Birchard Avenue for these events.
